How far and how high can Drone fly?

The helicopter is operated by the pilot within "line of sight". Due to the large size of our aircraft combined with our world class pilots skill, this range is typically 400 m in the horizontal and 150 m in the vertical direction. Higher altitudes are possible in unpopulated rural areas if certain safety precautions can be taken to avoid full size aircraft. We tell our clients to think of the drone as a hybrid dolly/jib/crane with an insane range of motion.

What is your policy regarding flying over crowds?

We do not fly over crowds of people. If you have an event that you would like covered we will look at the possibility of using a long lens so that we can operate from a safe distance. If we are on a closed set and need an overhead shot of a few people it is doable as long as they have been briefed on what to do in the event the pilot declares any type of emergency and needs to land. The helicopter must be kept at a reasonable altitude above the shot to increase safety margins. Obviously all parties involved must agree on this and the pilot reserves the right to refuse any request of this kind if he or she feels the conditions are not safe enough. We will never knowingly put anyone in harm's way.

Can you operate from a boat or a moving vehicle?

Yes, we can fly up to 60 km/h forward, 40 km/h backwards and 30 km/h sideways from a wide array of vehicles such as atv's, automobiles and boats. Boats, unless they are very large often require a piece of plywood to be secured to the front or rear of the boat to serve as a landing pad.

Can you fly indoors?

Yes. Our system is completely electric and very stable. All we need is a location with a large open unobstructed area, such as a sound stage, warehouse, sports facility, auditorium, etc.

Do you fly using FPV or first person view?

No we do not. This mode of flight greatly reduces the safety factor and overall reliability of the flight operations

What is air time per battery?

With one battery drone can fly about 10 minutes depending of the weather. This means about 10 minutes of air time, for example 5 min in air for first show, 20 min waiting on ground for rest, 5 min for the second shot and so on. Changing the battery takes about 2 minutes. Charging batteries take about 90 min. Usually we can do 6 - 10 flights in row with 20 min rest in between. Depending on payload and drone type it is from 1h – 2h air time.

is there a safety deposit?

A security deposit of 60% of invoice amount for on-location Aerial Video shooting is required to hold the date() and must be received no later than 2 weeks prior to the scheduled project. This deposit will be applied to the final invoice. Should the job be canceled (and not rescheduled) within 3 days prior to starting work for reasons outside of our control, the deposit will be forfeited.

can weather affect the flight?

Monitoring the weather forecast for your location is important. Leading up to the scheduled flight time we will confirm the shoot based on them. We strive to perform our helicopter filming under the best weather conditions that will give the most favorable results. However, please realize the Mother Nature is not 100% predictable. Inclement weather may cause the delay or rescheduling of the flight. If we are en route or on location and weather conditions, site conditions, and/or safety issues become unfavorable and the shoot is canceled, fees incurred up to that point will be charged. We reserve the right to make the final decision.

If conditions should determine that a flight should be delayed or canceled upon arrival, we will reschedule for a later date and the client will be responsible for the following:

If the client chooses to have the crew remain on site until conditions permit (on stand-by) and complete the flight, a fee of 70€/hour will be added to the total job cost.

In the event the flight is canceled, the client will be charged for all travel expenses incurred at cost.
